BBC Radio 2 Saturdays
The Biggest Saturdays on British Radio.
The UK’s most listened-to radio station doesn’t slow down just because it’s a Saturday.
Before March 2023, BBC Radio 2’s Saturday schedule had no dedicated social media coverage. As the Digital Producer brought in to change that, I built and led the full Saturday digital operation from the ground up, covering one of the most talent-rich lineups in British radio: Dermot O’Leary, Romesh Ranganathan, Emma Willis (previously Zoe Ball and Mark Goodier), and Rylan, back to back, every Saturday.
Each show with its own tone, its own audience, and its own variety social moments to share to millions.
This also included a revamp of KaRYoke – a staple on Rylan’s show – giving it the apt treatment needed to stand out on social media, and work on BBC Radio 2 In The Park capturing the energy and action on the festival grounds.
BBC Radio 2’s Instagram crossed 1 million followers in March 2026, making it one of the most followed radio stations in the world on the platform.
Capturing the moment
Being across four distinct shows meant constantly shifting creative gears: from Dermot’s warm morning pace to Rylan’s high-octane weekend energy – producing live reactive content and pre-produced pieces that felt native to social media, all while reflecting Radio 2’s vibrant flavour.
Social-First Video
I also produced bespoke pieces, sometimes including special guests, giving audiences a unique dimension of their favourite stars. From capturing the fun that happens in studio during the songs, and staying reactive to massive global trends.
Aside from the show’s schedule, sometimes just seizing the moment is exactly what the Radio 2 audience loves… especially those unplanned moments!
